Fluenz: language learning app
Brand refresh – a case study
Fluenz, a digital language learning app, assists users in acquiring languages like Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese. In 2015, I personally used the app to learn Italian. While it’s well-structured, I encountered some issues with the app’s design and user experience. Feeling motivated, I decided to refresh the brand and enhance certain sections of the app.
I aimed to create a fresh look and feel for the logo and overall branding, while maintaining essence of the original logo, so the new brainding is still easily recognizable.
I made some changes to enhance the app’s usability, including:
Consistent UI with uniform colors and button placement.
Improved accessibility by increasing font size and enhancing contrast with the background.
Larger tap area for easier actions and reduced accidental wrong actions.
